This event tracks the scoring performance of both teams in an upcoming college football game. It focuses specifically on the total number of touchdowns each team achieves during the match, providing various thresholds for both teams to exceed.
The event resolves based on the total touchdowns scored by each team in the Miami (FL) vs Wake Forest college football game scheduled for September 18, 2026. For Wake Forest, markets resolve to Yes if they score 1+, 2+, or 3+ touchdowns. For Miami (FL), markets resolve to Yes if they score 5+, 6+, or 7+ touchdowns. All touchdowns, including those scored in overtime, count toward these totals. Successful two-point conversions do not count as touchdowns for resolution purposes. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of the scheduled time, markets resolve to a fair price.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on power rankings and expert analysis, but may adjust based on betting action. This market, however, allows anyone to participate and express their opinion, potentially leading to odds that diverge from those offered by sportsbooks, especially as new information emerges. It’s common to see prediction markets more accurately forecast probabilities, as they aggregate a wider range of perspectives than a single sportsbook.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing different touchdown totals, and the price of each contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the prices adjust to reflect the collective prediction. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movements are driven by supply and demand; if many traders believe a certain outcome is likely, they will buy contracts, driving up the price, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing mechanism aims to create a transparent and efficient market for forecasting the game’s outcome.
This market resolves around Sep 19, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final touchdown totals scored by both Miami and Wake Forest will be used to determine the winning contracts. The resolution will be based on official game statistics, as reported by a trusted sports data source. Traders will be able to see the final results and payouts on Kalshi shortly after the game concludes. The market’s resolution is independent of any pre-game predictions or analyses.
Several factors could influence this market before resolution. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Miami or Wake Forest would likely cause significant price movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest adverse conditions for passing or running, could also impact the market. Additionally, late-breaking news about coaching strategies or team morale could shift trader sentiment. Unexpected developments in the days leading up to the game, or even during the game itself, could all contribute to fluctuations in the price of contracts within this market.
