In the college football matchup between Miami (FL) and Wake Forest, the first team to score a touchdown will determine this market. The outcome hinges solely on which team manages to cross the goal line first, regardless of how it's achieved.
The market resolves based on which team scores the first touchdown in the Miami (FL) vs Wake Forest college football game originally scheduled for Sep 18, 2026. All touchdowns count, including offensive, defensive, and special teams. If the first touchdown occurs in overtime, the market for that team resolves to Yes. If neither team scores a touchdown in the full game (including overtime), the market titled “No team scores a TD” resolves to Yes. If the game is postponed but begins within 48 hours of its originally scheduled start time, the market remains open and resolves based on the official final result. If the game is not started within 48 hours, the market resolves to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA; all trademarks are property of their respective owners.
Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while Kalshi allows traders to directly assess the probability of an outcome. This can lead to differences in implied probabilities. For example, if sportsbooks heavily favor one team, this market might show a more nuanced view based on the collective wisdom of traders. It's common to see discrepancies, especially as new information emerges and public sentiment shifts leading up to the game.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing their belief about whether Miami or Wake Forest will score the first touchdown. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome, as perceived by the market participants. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price fluctuates, providing a real-time assessment of the likelihood of each team scoring first. The market’s depth—the number of contracts available at different price points—also indicates the level of confidence in each outcome.
This market resolves around Sep 19, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on which team scores the first touchdown in the Miami vs Wake Forest game. The official game results, as reported by a trusted sports news source, will determine the winning outcome. Traders who correctly predicted which team would score first will receive a payout based on the final market price at resolution.
Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Miami or Wake Forest would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they favor one team's offensive style, could also impact the market. Furthermore, public sentiment and expert analysis leading up to the game, such as updated power rankings or predictions from sports analysts, could sway traders' opinions and shift the price. Unexpected announcements about coaching strategies or team lineups could also contribute to market volatility.
