This market focuses on determining which team will lead at the end of the third quarter in an upcoming college football game. It provides a snapshot of in-game momentum by isolating performance in a single quarter, separate from the full-game outcome. Bettors can speculate on which side will dominate during this specific segment of play.
The market resolves based on which team scores more points during the third quarter of the Miami (FL) vs Wake Forest college football game scheduled for September 18, 2026. If Wake Forest scores more points in that quarter, the 'Wake Forest wins 3rd Quarter' market resolves to Yes. If Miami (FL) scores more points, the 'Miami (FL) wins 3rd Quarter' market resolves to Yes. If both teams score the same number of points, the 'Tie 3rd Quarter' market resolves to Yes. For all markets, only points scored during the third quarter count. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the official result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Kalshi is not affiliated with the NCAA, and all trademarks belong to their respective owners.
Generally, prediction markets and sportsbooks often arrive at similar probabilities, but they do so through different mechanisms. Sportsbooks set odds based on their internal models and aim to balance their risk, while this market reflects the collective wisdom of traders who are incentivized to accurately forecast the outcome. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply the dynamic nature of each venue. If you find a significant difference between the implied probability here and sportsbook odds, it might indicate an opportunity for informed trading.
On Kalshi, this market is priced using a continuous double auction. Traders buy and sell contracts representing each possible outcome – Miami winning the 3rd quarter or Wake Forest winning the 3rd quarter. The price of each contract reflects the market’s current expectation of that outcome’s probability. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the prices adjust dynamically, providing a real-time assessment of the likely winner. The goal is to converge towards the true probability as the event approaches.
This market resolves around Sep 19, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will settle based on which team is leading at the end of the 3rd quarter of the Miami vs Wake Forest football game. The official game results, as reported by a trusted sports data source, will determine the winning outcome. Traders will then be paid out based on the final result and their positions in the market.
Several factors could influence trading activity in this market. Any news regarding injuries to key players on either the Miami or Wake Forest teams would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest adverse conditions, could also impact the perceived probabilities. Furthermore, in-game performance during the first and second quarters could shift expectations and lead to adjustments in the prices. Public sentiment and any late-breaking analysis from sports commentators could also play a role in influencing the market.
