These markets evaluate how many points will be scored in the final quarter of a college football game between Miami (FL) and Stanford. Each market has a different threshold for the total points scored by both teams combined during that specific quarter.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams in the 4th quarter (excluding overtime) of the Miami (FL) vs Stanford college football game scheduled for September 4, 2026. A 'Yes' outcome occurs when the combined score exceeds the specified threshold for each respective market (ranging from 2.5 to 27.5 points). If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours, all markets resolve to a fair price. Only points scored during regulation 4th quarter play count; overtime points are excluded from all calculations.
Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market represents the collective belief of traders. If a significant discrepancy exists between the two, opportunities for arbitrage may arise. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities of an outcome, and neither is guaranteed to be accurate. Public polling data on expected game outcomes can also provide a useful point of comparison.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts. The price of a contract represents the probability of the total points scored in the 4th quarter falling *below* that value. For example, a contract price of 50 means traders are pricing a 50% chance that the total will be 50 or less. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price fluctuates based on supply and demand, influenced by news, analysis, and overall market sentiment. Traders aim to profit by accurately predicting the outcome and trading contracts accordingly.
This market resolves around Sep 5, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the 4th quarter is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official game statistics, as reported by a trusted sports data source. The total points scored in the 4th quarter will determine whether contracts predicting ‘over’ or ‘under’ a certain point total will pay out. The market will then be settled based on this verified result.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Late-breaking news regarding key player injuries for either Miami or Stanford would likely cause significant movement. Changes in weather forecasts, particularly if they suggest conditions favoring a high- or low-scoring game, could also impact trading activity. In-game developments during the first three quarters, such as a dominant performance by one team, could shift expectations and lead to price adjustments. Even broader factors, like public betting trends, can play a role in shaping the market.
