On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader orders into real-time odds. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome, and the cumulative volume at each price level determines the current odds. As more capital flows into one side, the price adjusts to reflect the shifting probability. The transparent, continuous pricing mechanism means odds can shift rapidly in response to breaking news, team lineups, or injury reports.
This market resolves around Aug 2, 2026, once the match concludes and the opening goal is verified. The outcome is determined by which team scores first during regular play, confirmed against credible public reporting of the final result. Traders holding shares in the correct outcome receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs within hours of the final whistle, allowing quick settlement and payouts to winning participants.
Key catalysts include team news such as injuries to star strikers or defensive changes that shift attacking balance. Starting lineups announced before kickoff often trigger sharp repricing as traders adjust for tactical formations and player availability. Weather conditions, recent form, and head-to-head history can also influence trader positioning. Live match developments—early chances, possession patterns, or momentum swings—may cause odds to shift even after trading begins, reflecting real-time reassessment of which side is likelier to break the deadlock first.
