Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different pricing mechanisms. Sportsbooks set lines based on statistical models and aim to balance action on both sides for profit; prediction markets aggregate trader beliefs through continuous price discovery. For this market, sportsbook odds may emphasize historical team performance and injury reports, while prediction market participants incorporate broader information flows and real-time sentiment. Comparing the two can reveal where consensus differs most sharply.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader orders into real-time probabilities for each exact-score outcome.
