DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbook odds are typically set by a small team of experts, while this market aggregates insights from many individuals. It's common to see discrepancies between the two, especially when there's significant uncertainty or public debate surrounding the event. Examining these differences can be valuable, as prediction markets have sometimes demonstrated an ability to forecast outcomes more accurately than traditional methods, though past performance is not indicative of future results.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in different outcomes. The price of each share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information emerges, the prices adjust to reflect the evolving consensus. The market's depth – the number of shares available at different price points – indicates the level of confidence traders have in each potential result for the Women's Metro Bank Cup match.
