This market will resolve to "YES" if Lionel Messi fully removes his shirt — so it is no longer worn on his torso — as part of a goal celebration immediately following a goal he scores at any match in the 2026 FIFA World Cup main tournament, including extra time. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "NO." Goals scored in penalty shootouts do not count. An own goal does not count — the goal must be credited to Messi. The shirt removal must occur immediately following the goal as part of the celebration. Removing the shirt at any other point during the match does not qualify. The footage must be authentic. Digitally altered content, AI-generated media, or staged reproductions will not qualify. If the 2026 FIFA World Cup is cancelled or postponed after July 31, 2026, 23:59 UTC, or no clear confirmation is available within that timeframe, this market will resolve to "NO." The primary resolution source will be official information from FIFA.com; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.

Prediction market odds often diverge from traditional sportsbook odds because they reflect real-time trader consensus rather than fixed bookmaker lines. Sportsbooks typically adjust odds to manage liability and profit margins, while this market is driven by direct participant trading. Prediction markets can respond faster to breaking news, player form, or tournament developments, sometimes pricing in scenarios that sportsbooks have not yet reflected. The two venues serve different audiences: traders seeking dynamic exposure versus bettors looking for fixed payouts.
On Limitless, this market is priced through an automated market maker or order-book mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing yes or no outcomes. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price of each outcome reflects the cumulative bids and asks from all participants, with the spread between buy and sell prices indicating liquidity depth. As traders place orders, the price adjusts in real time, allowing new information about Messi's form, injury status, or tournament momentum to be incorporated instantly into the odds.
This market resolves around Jul 20, 2026, following the conclusion of the 2026 World Cup. The outcome is determined by whether Messi removes his shirt during a goal celebration at any point in the tournament. Resolution will be verified against credible public sources, including official match footage, broadcaster coverage, and reputable sports media reports. Once the event is confirmed or the tournament concludes without the occurrence, the market will settle and traders will receive their final payouts.
Key catalysts include Messi's fitness status and whether he is selected for Argentina's squad, his form leading into the tournament, and any statements he makes about his World Cup participation. Early matches where he scores will be critical inflection points, as each goal celebration offers a fresh opportunity for the outcome to occur. Injury updates, team dynamics, and Argentina's tournament progression will also influence trader positioning. Additionally, any historical precedent or recent celebrations by Messi could shift market sentiment as the event draws closer.
