Frequently asked questions

On Limitless, the Messi-Ronaldo goals vs own goals market dashboard tracks real-time odds and trading activity for whether Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo's combined World Cup goals will exceed the total own goals scored across all matches in the tournament. The dashboard displays current market pricing, historical price movements, and 24-hour trading volume, allowing traders to monitor how sentiment shifts as the competition unfolds. This gives you a live window into how the prediction community is weighing this specific matchup between individual star performance and defensive mishaps.

Prediction market odds on this market tend to reflect real-time trader consensus rather than traditional sportsbook lines, which are optimized for balanced betting volume and profit margins. Sportsbooks typically adjust odds based on liability management, whereas prediction markets like this one aggregate dispersed information from many participants with direct financial incentive to forecast accurately. Over time, prediction market prices often converge toward actual outcomes because traders who misjudge the likelihood lose capital. This makes them a useful benchmark for comparing against published sportsbook spreads on related World Cup prop bets.

On Limitless, traders buy and sell shares representing "Yes" and "No" outcomes, with the share price reflecting the implied probability of Messi and Ronaldo's combined goals exceeding own goals at the World Cup. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The platform uses an automated market maker or order-book mechanism to match buyers and sellers, meaning prices adjust continuously as new trades flow in. Your entry and exit prices depend on the current order book depth and the volume you're trading, so larger positions may face wider spreads than smaller ones.

This market resolves around Jul 20, 2026, once the World Cup concludes and final goal tallies are confirmed. The outcome is determined by comparing Messi and Ronaldo's combined goal total against the total own goals scored across all tournament matches. Resolution will be verified against credible public sources documenting official tournament statistics. Traders should monitor official World Cup records and major sports reporting outlets as the event approaches to anticipate how the final numbers will settle the market.

Key catalysts include injuries or absences affecting either player's availability and playing time, shifts in their teams' tournament performance and match frequency, and early-stage own goal trends as group play unfolds. Unexpected defensive collapses or particularly error-prone matches can spike own goal counts rapidly. Media coverage of either player's goal-scoring form, team lineup changes, and knockout-stage matchups will all influence trader expectations. Additionally, any rule changes or unusual tournament circumstances could alter the likelihood of reaching the threshold, causing sharp repricing across this market.
