This market determines the winner of the third set in the professional tennis match between Matteo Berrettini and Arthur Fils at the 2026 Wimbledon Men's Singles Round of 64 on July 2. The set winner is determined by standard tennis scoring rules.
The market resolves to Yes for whichever player wins set 3 of the match. If the match does not occur before it starts due to injury, walkover, forfeiture, or cancellation, the market resolves to a fair price. If the match is postponed or delayed, the market remains open until the rescheduled match concludes within two weeks. If a player retires, markets that can be unconditionally settled based on completed play resolve accordingly; those that cannot are resolved to fair market price at the Exchange's discretion.
Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and manage risk, while prediction markets like this one are driven by traders seeking profit through accurate forecasting. Comparing this market's implied probabilities to major sportsbook lines can reveal where professional bettors and casual traders disagree on the likelihood of each outcome, potentially highlighting value opportunities.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order-book mechanism where traders submit bids and asks for shares representing each outcome. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each share reflects the collective belief of all active traders about the probability of that outcome occurring. As new information emerges or sentiment shifts, traders adjust their orders, causing prices to move in real time and the implied probability to update accordingly.
This market resolves around Jul 2, 2026, once the third set of the Berrettini vs Fils match concludes and the winner is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by which player wins the set according to official match records. Until that point, traders can continue to buy and sell shares as odds fluctuate based on pre-match analysis, player form, and any other factors influencing expectations.
Several factors may shift odds before resolution. Recent player performance, head-to-head records, and surface conditions can influence trader expectations. Injury reports or changes to either player's fitness status may trigger sharp moves. Court conditions, weather, and the momentum from earlier sets could also sway the market. Breaking news about either competitor's form or tactical adjustments during the match itself will likely drive the most dramatic price swings as traders react to unfolding events.
