Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook offerings. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant discrepancy exists between prediction market probabilities and sportsbook odds, it might indicate that the market perceives information differently or has access to unique insights. However, as the event approaches, these odds tend to converge as more information is factored into both. It's important to note that this market represents a distinct view, not a direct reflection of sportsbook lines.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand; if more people believe Maslovskyi Oleksandr will win, the price of shares representing that outcome will increase, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures the market reflects the most up-to-date predictions.

This market resolves around Sep 30, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will be based on the official result of the Maslovskyi vs. Nikolenko match, as reported by the governing sporting body. The platform will rely on widely accepted and publicly available sources to determine the winner. Traders will then be able to claim their winnings based on the final result. It’s important to monitor the official sources as the event concludes to understand how this market will be settled.

Several factors could influence the price of shares in this market before Sep 30, 2026. Any news regarding the players’ form, injuries, or changes in their coaching strategies could significantly impact predictions. Unexpected announcements about the match location or playing conditions could also shift market sentiment. Furthermore, major upsets in related matches or tournaments might cause traders to reassess their probabilities. Public opinion, as expressed through polls or expert analysis, can also play a role, though this market relies on traders' individual assessments rather than external sources.
