Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks incorporate a ‘vig’ or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, and may be influenced by public betting patterns. This market, however, is driven by individuals who are incentivized to accurately predict the outcome, theoretically leading to more efficient pricing. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, risk assessments, or simply varying levels of expertise among participants. It’s common to see prediction markets offer odds that diverge from sportsbook lines, especially as new information emerges.
