These markets track how many points Maryland and UConn score together in the fourth quarter of their college football game. Each market has a different threshold, so bettors can choose how high they think the scoring will be in that final period.
All markets resolve based on the total points scored by both teams during the fourth quarter (excluding overtime) of the Maryland vs UConn college football game scheduled for September 12, 2026. Each market has a specific threshold: if the combined fourth-quarter points exceed that threshold, the market resolves to Yes; otherwise, it resolves to No. For all markets, only points scored in regulation fourth-quarter play count—overtime points are excluded. If the game is postponed but starts within 48 hours of the original time, the markets remain open and resolve based on the final result. If the game does not start within 48 hours of its scheduled time, all markets resolve to a fair price. Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds due to varying information and incentives. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and ensure profit, while this market allows individuals to express their beliefs directly. If a significant discrepancy exists between the implied probability on Kalshi and sportsbook lines, it could indicate differing perspectives on the likely game outcome. It’s important to remember that both represent probabilities, but are derived through different mechanisms and may appeal to different types of bettors.
On Kalshi, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders buy and sell contracts representing their beliefs about the 4th quarter total. The price of a contract reflects the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the price adjusts to reflect the collective expectation. On Kalshi, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price indicates what percentage of the contract’s face value a trader would need to pay to hold it until resolution, and thus represents the market’s assessment of the likelihood of the 4th quarter total exceeding 10.5 points.
This market resolves around Sep 12, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the final score of the Maryland vs UConn game is verifiable from credible public reporting. The resolution will depend on the official total points scored in the 4th quarter, as recorded by official game statistics. The market will then determine whether the total exceeds or falls short of 10.5 points, triggering a payout to those who correctly predicted the result. Traders should monitor official sources for the final game results to understand the resolution.
Several factors could influence the price of this market. Any news regarding key player injuries for either Maryland or UConn would likely cause significant movement. Changes in betting trends at sportsbooks could also impact trader sentiment on Kalshi. In-game performance during the first three quarters, particularly scoring rates and defensive strategies, will heavily influence expectations for the 4th quarter. Unexpected foul trouble or a shift in coaching tactics could also contribute to price fluctuations as traders adjust their predictions.
