Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different mechanisms. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while this market is priced by thousands of independent traders wagering real capital on their beliefs about the final score. Prediction markets typically incorporate broader information flows and real-time sentiment, sometimes leading to sharper or earlier price moves than traditional sportsbooks. However, sportsbooks may offer tighter spreads on popular outcomes due to higher volume concentration.
On Polymarket, traders set prices through an automated market maker that adjusts odds based on order flow and liquidity. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each exact-score outcome is represented as a separate contract, and the combined probability of all outcomes should theoretically sum to 100 percent, though in practice fees and slippage create small deviations. Prices update continuously as new trades execute, allowing participants to enter or exit positions at any time before the market closes.
This market resolves around Jul 15, 2026, once the match concludes and the final scoreline is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the exact number of goals scored by each team at the end of regular time. Any goals scored in extra time or penalty shootouts do not count toward resolution. Traders holding shares in the correct final score receive their payout, while all other positions expire worthless.
Team news—injuries to key players, lineup changes, or tactical announcements—typically shifts odds toward scorelines favoring the affected side. Recent form, head-to-head history, and weather conditions closer to kickoff can also influence trader sentiment. As match day approaches, real-time updates such as confirmed starting lineups or late-breaking roster decisions often trigger sharp repricing. During the match itself, early goals, red cards, or momentum swings will cause rapid reallocation of probability across different final-score outcomes.
