Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, representing their profit margin. This market, driven by the collective wisdom of traders on Limitless, aims to reflect the true probability of the event occurring. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on expert analysis, this market’s odds dynamically adjust as more information becomes available and traders express their beliefs. Discrepancies can arise due to differing opinions and risk assessments, potentially offering value to informed bettors.

On Limitless, this market is priced through a continuous order book where traders can buy 'yes' contracts (betting on Manchester United winning by two or more goals) or 'no' contracts (betting against it). The price of each contract fluctuates based on supply and demand. As more traders buy 'yes' contracts, the price increases, indicating a higher perceived probability of that outcome. On Limitless, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price represents the market's aggregate assessment of the likelihood of Manchester United achieving the specified win margin. Trading volume influences how quickly prices adjust to new information.

This market resolves around Sep 14, 2026, following the conclusion of the Manchester United versus Manchester City match. The outcome will be determined by the official result of the game, verified against credible public reporting. Specifically, the market will resolve to 'yes' if Manchester United wins the match by a margin of two or more goals, and to 'no' otherwise. The final score will be the deciding factor, and the resolution process relies on publicly available and independently verifiable data regarding the match’s final result.

Several factors could significantly influence this market before Sep 14, 2026. Any news regarding key player injuries or suspensions for either Manchester United or Manchester City would likely cause price fluctuations.
