Prediction market odds, like those found on Polymarket and Predict, often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, allows traders to express their independent beliefs, leading to odds that can be more accurate, especially as new information emerges. Discrepancies can arise due to differing levels of information aggregation and the incentive structures of each venue, with prediction markets incentivizing accurate forecasting.
