Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and protect their margins, while prediction markets aggregate the collective beliefs of traders who have real money at stake. This market may show different implied probabilities than major sportsbooks, particularly as new information emerges closer to kickoff. Comparing the two can reveal where the broader betting public disagrees with prediction market participants.
On Polymarket, traders set prices by buying and selling outcome shares in an automated market maker system. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome has a price between 0 and 100 cents, representing the implied probability that outcome will occur. As more traders back one result, its price rises and others fall, creating a dynamic equilibrium. The spread between bid and ask prices reflects liquidity and uncertainty around the second-half result.
This market resolves around Jul 12, 2026, once the Malmo FF versus IFK Goteborg match concludes and the second-half result is verified against credible public sources. The outcome is determined by the official final score recorded during the second half only, independent of the first-half scoreline. Resolution occurs after the match is complete and the result is confirmed through established sports reporting channels.
Team news, injuries to key players, and recent form leading up to kickoff can shift trader sentiment significantly. Weather conditions and venue factors may influence how participants price second-half dynamics. Live match developments—such as early goals, red cards, or tactical adjustments during the first half—often trigger sharp repricing as traders update their expectations for the second period. Betting market activity and social media discussion around the fixture can also accelerate price movements as new information spreads.
