Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd perspective, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and ensure profit, while this market is driven purely by traders’ beliefs. If a significant amount of money flows to one outcome, the price will adjust accordingly, potentially signaling information not yet fully incorporated into traditional betting markets. It's common to see discrepancies, especially before a lot of trading volume accumulates on Polymarket.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders participate, the price converges toward what the crowd believes is the true probability. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price reflects the collective intelligence of those actively trading, rather than a static assessment from a single source.

This market resolves around Sep 10, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. Resolution will be based on the official result of the Maksiuta vs. Derevianko fight, as declared by the relevant boxing authorities. The platform will verify the result against widely available and trusted sources to determine which outcome is the winner and settle the market accordingly. Traders holding shares in the winning outcome will receive a payout.

Several factors could influence trading activity and move this market. Any news regarding the fighters’ training, injuries, or changes in their condition would likely have an impact. Pre-fight press conferences, weigh-in results, and even public statements from the fighters themselves could shift sentiment. Unexpected betting patterns in traditional sportsbooks might also draw attention to this market, prompting traders to reassess their positions. Significant volume spikes on Polymarket are often a sign of new information entering the market.
