Prediction market odds on Polymarket often diverge from traditional sportsbook odds because they reflect decentralized trader consensus rather than bookmaker pricing models. Sportsbooks build in margins and adjust lines based on liability management, while prediction markets aggregate real-time beliefs from many participants. These differences can highlight value opportunities or consensus shifts.
On Polymarket, the Makarska match is priced through binary outcome contracts where traders buy and sell shares representing each player's chances of winning. Late-breaking lineup confirmations or coaching changes would similarly impact implied probabilities as new information reaches the prediction market.
