This market refers to the combination of the pre-match coin toss and the final match result for the cricket match between Washington Freedom and Mi New York scheduled for 2026-07-15 in Major League Cricket. This market resolves according to (1) the official toss result and (2) the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. The outcome corresponding to Washington Freedom will be considered correct if Washington Freedom is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. The outcome corresponding to Mi New York will be considered correct if Mi New York is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. In all other cases - including where the toss and match winners differ, or where no match winner is recorded - the market will resolve to "Draw". DLS/DRS adjustments, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, Super Over, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a match winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the tiebreak winner will be considered the match winner for this market. If the match ends tied with no tiebreak used or available, no team will be considered to have won the match and the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is permanently canceled, abandoned, or otherwise completed without an official match winner being declared, the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed and will then resolve as described above.

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they serve different purposes and audiences. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage risk, while prediction markets reflect the collective belief of traders who have financial incentive to forecast accurately. This market aggregates decentralized trader conviction rather than a bookmaker's margin, potentially offering a purer signal of true probability. However, sportsbook odds may incorporate additional factors like sharp action or liability management that differ from pure crowd forecasting.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the ratio of shares held in the liquidity pool, meaning larger trades move prices more dramatically. Traders profit by buying underpriced outcomes and selling overpriced ones, which naturally drives prices toward equilibrium and encourages accurate pricing as the event date approaches.
This market resolves around Jul 22, 2026, once the toss result from the Washington Freedom versus Mi New York match is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome will be confirmed based on the official toss call recorded at the match venue. Traders holding shares in the correct outcome will receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless. Resolution typically occurs shortly after the match begins and the toss is officially documented.
Market prices may shift based on team news, injury updates, or weather conditions that could influence toss strategy or captain decisions. Late roster changes or tactical announcements from either franchise could alter trader expectations about which outcome is more likely. Social media sentiment, expert commentary, and betting action from sharp traders may also drive repricing. As the match start time approaches, any official statements about ground conditions or venue-specific factors could trigger significant price movement in this market.
