This market refers to the cricket match between Seattle Orcas and Texas Super Kings scheduled for July 5 2026 in Major League Cricket. This market resolves according to the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve 50-50. If the match is postponed/rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed. If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned or otherwise is completed without a winner, the market resolves 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set odds to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are driven by trader consensus and real-money skin-in-the-game dynamics. Prediction markets typically incorporate broader information flows and can react faster to breaking news or analytical shifts. However, sportsbooks may offer tighter spreads and more liquidity in mainstream sports. Comparing the two can reveal where the crowd sees value and which venue's odds better reflect true match probabilities.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker (AMM) model where traders directly buy and sell outcome shares. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of each outcome reflects the ratio of liquidity pools, so as traders accumulate shares in one outcome, the price of that outcome rises and the opposing outcome falls. This continuous pricing mechanism ensures real-time discovery and allows traders to enter or exit positions at transparent, algorithmically determined rates. The spread between bid and ask prices depends on pool depth and recent trading volume.
This market resolves around Jul 12, 2026, once the match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome is determined by which team wins the game under standard Major League Cricket rules. Resolution occurs after official confirmation, ensuring accuracy and fairness for all traders. Until that point, odds may shift based on team news, injury updates, weather conditions, or other factors that influence perceived match probability.
Key catalysts for this market include roster changes, player injuries, recent team performance trends, and head-to-head matchup history. Weather forecasts closer to game day can significantly impact odds, especially in cricket where conditions affect pace and spin bowling. Team announcements regarding lineup decisions or tactical adjustments often trigger sharp price moves. Media coverage, expert commentary, and betting syndicate activity can also shift sentiment. Additionally, any off-field developments—such as disciplinary issues or venue changes—may influence trader positioning and implied win probabilities in the final hours before the match.
