This market refers to the combination of the pre-match coin toss and the final match result for the cricket match between Seattle Orcas and Mi New York scheduled for 2026-07-02 in Major League Cricket. This market resolves according to (1) the official toss result and (2) the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. The outcome corresponding to Seattle Orcas will be considered correct if Seattle Orcas is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. The outcome corresponding to Mi New York will be considered correct if Mi New York is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. In all other cases - including where the toss and match winners differ, or where no match winner is recorded - the market will resolve to "Draw". DLS/DRS adjustments, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, Super Over, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a match winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the tiebreak winner will be considered the match winner for this market. If the match ends tied with no tiebreak used or available, no team will be considered to have won the match and the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is permanently canceled, abandoned, or otherwise completed without an official match winner being declared, the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed and will then resolve as described above.

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different pricing mechanisms and risk models. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and manage liability, while prediction markets like this one price outcomes through continuous trader participation and supply-demand dynamics. Prediction markets can sometimes offer sharper or more efficient pricing on niche events like cricket toss outcomes, since they aggregate distributed knowledge from many participants. However, sportsbooks may offer better liquidity or promotional terms on mainstream sports betting. Comparing both sources helps identify value opportunities.
On Polymarket, traders set the odds for this market through an automated market maker (AMM) mechanism that adjusts prices based on buy and sell volume. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders bet on one outcome, the price for that outcome rises and the alternative falls, creating a self-correcting equilibrium. The current odds reflect the aggregate belief of all active traders on the platform. You can enter or exit positions at any time during the market's active window, and your trade size influences the final price you receive based on the liquidity pool depth.
This market resolves around Jul 9, 2026, once the toss result from the Seattle Orcas vs Mi New York match is verifiable from credible public sources. The outcome will be confirmed based on the official match record and broadcast documentation. Until that point, traders can continue to buy and sell positions as new information and match conditions develop. Resolution typically occurs shortly after the event concludes and the result is publicly confirmed.
Several factors can shift odds in this market before resolution. Team news—such as injury updates, lineup changes, or roster announcements—often triggers repricing. Weather conditions on match day can influence toss strategy and trader sentiment. Betting patterns and sharp money flowing into one side may signal informed positioning. Historical toss data or venue-specific trends can also prompt recalibration. Social media discussion, expert commentary, and pre-match analysis may sway retail traders. As the match start time approaches, final confirmation of playing conditions and coin flip rules can create last-minute volatility in this market.
