This market refers to the combination of the pre-match coin toss and the final match result for the cricket match between San Francisco Unicorns and Washington Freedom scheduled for 2026-07-16 in Major League Cricket. This market resolves according to (1) the official toss result and (2) the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. The outcome corresponding to San Francisco Unicorns will be considered correct if San Francisco Unicorns is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. The outcome corresponding to Washington Freedom will be considered correct if Washington Freedom is officially recorded as winning both the toss and the match. In all other cases - including where the toss and match winners differ, or where no match winner is recorded - the market will resolve to "Draw". DLS/DRS adjustments, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, Super Over, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a match winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the tiebreak winner will be considered the match winner for this market. If the match ends tied with no tiebreak used or available, no team will be considered to have won the match and the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is permanently canceled, abandoned, or otherwise completed without an official match winner being declared, the market will resolve to "Draw". If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed and will then resolve as described above.

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and manage risk; prediction markets aggregate the beliefs of traders wagering real money on outcomes. This market may show higher or lower implied probabilities than traditional sportsbooks, depending on whether informed traders spot value the books have missed. Comparing the two can reveal where consensus is strongest or where outlier views exist.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that adjusts odds based on the ratio of shares bought and sold for each outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Traders purchase shares representing their belief in a particular result, and the cumulative trading activity determines the displayed probability. The more capital flowing into one outcome, the higher its price rises, creating a continuous price discovery mechanism that reflects the collective forecast of all active participants.
This market resolves around Jul 23, 2026, once the toss outcome is verified against credible public sources and the event concludes. The resolution hinges on the official result of the match toss, confirmed through established sports reporting channels. Traders holding shares in the correct outcome receive their payout, while incorrect positions expire worthless. The exact timing depends on when the match is played and the result is publicly confirmed.
Key catalysts include team roster announcements, injury updates, weather forecasts on match day, and any official statements from Major League Cricket about venue or scheduling changes. Historical head-to-head toss patterns and coin bias data may also influence trader positioning. As the match date approaches, increased media coverage and expert commentary can shift sentiment. Real-time developments during the pre-match period—such as captain changes or late-breaking news—often trigger sharp price swings as traders reassess probabilities.
