This market refers to the cricket match between San Francisco Unicorns and Washington Freedom scheduled for July 16 2026 in Major League Cricket. This market resolves according to the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve 50-50. If the match is postponed/rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed. If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned or otherwise is completed without a winner, the market resolves 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Prediction market odds and sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different participant bases and incentive structures. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and protect their margin, while prediction markets aggregate the collective beliefs of traders risking real capital. In cricket, sportsbook odds may lag behind prediction market prices when new information emerges, since traders on this market react instantly to team news, injuries, or weather updates. Neither source is inherently more accurate, but comparing both can reveal where consensus is strongest and where outlier views persist.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader activity into real-time probabilities. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. When you buy shares representing one outcome, the price rises; selling lowers it. The system ensures continuous liquidity and transparent pricing based on supply and demand. Traders can enter or exit positions at any time before the market closes, and the final price reflects the aggregate confidence of all participants in that outcome occurring.
This market resolves around Jul 23, 2026, once the cricket match concludes and the result is verifiable from credible public reporting. The outcome will be confirmed based on the official match result, determining which team prevails. Until that point, traders can continue to adjust positions as new information emerges. Resolution is automatic once the event is finalized, and all shares are settled according to the confirmed outcome.
Several factors could shift odds before the match. Team roster announcements, player injuries, or last-minute lineup changes often trigger sharp price moves. Weather forecasts for the match day can influence strategy and alter probabilities significantly. Recent form, head-to-head records, and venue conditions also attract trader attention. Major news about key players or coaching decisions may spark volatility. As the match date approaches, each new development gives traders fresh data to reassess their positions, making this market dynamic and responsive to emerging information.
