This market resolves according to the finalized match statistics as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. The outcome corresponding to San Francisco Unicorns will be considered correct if the highest individual score in the match is recorded exclusively by a player from San Francisco Unicorns. The outcome corresponding to Los Angeles Knight Riders will be considered correct if the highest individual score is recorded exclusively by a player from Los Angeles Knight Riders. If the highest individual score is shared by at least one player from each team, the market will resolve to Draw. The market will resolve according to which team's player records the highest individual run total regardless of if the match is not competed (e.g. Due to weather conditions). DLS/DRS adjustments and any other on-field rulings affecting batting statistics are treated as ordinary data. If the match is permanently canceled, abandoned, or otherwise completed without official batting statistics being recorded, the market will resolve Draw. If the match is postponed or rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed and official statistics are available.

Prediction market odds and traditional sportsbook odds often diverge because they reflect different pricing mechanisms. Sportsbooks set lines to balance action and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets like this one are priced by traders who buy and sell shares based on their own forecasts. In this market, the odds emerge from real-time supply and demand rather than a bookmaker's fixed margin. Over time, prediction markets tend to aggregate dispersed information efficiently, sometimes offering sharper or more responsive pricing than static sportsbook lines, particularly as new information about player form or team composition becomes available.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through an automated market maker that converts trader orders into real-time probability quotes. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. Each outcome—representing a specific batter as the top scorer—has a price between 0 and 1 (or 0–100 cents), where higher prices reflect greater perceived likelihood. Traders profit by buying low and selling high, or by correctly predicting which batter will finish with the most runs. The continuous pricing mechanism ensures liquidity and allows participants to enter or exit positions at any time before the match concludes, with prices adjusting instantly as new trades flow in.
Several factors can shift odds in this market before play begins and during the match. Pre-game catalysts include official team lineups, injury announcements, weather forecasts, and recent batter form or head-to-head records. Once the match starts, live performance—early boundaries, dismissals, and run-scoring patterns—will drive rapid repricing as traders update their expectations. Changes in pitch conditions, bowling changes, or momentum swings can also trigger significant moves. Late-stage developments, such as a key batter's injury or an unexpected tactical shift, may cause sharp repricing in the final overs as the outcome becomes clearer.
