PredictionHero - Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA)

Divergence Detected

Issue: Kalshi and Polymarket offer distinct market types (run-total thresholds vs. binary match/toss/completion outcomes) with different resolution sources and edge-case handling. No logical contradiction, but separate resolution pathways require careful monitoring.Hero tip: Treat these as two separate market families. Kalshi requires final run totals from ESPNCricinfo; Polymarket requires match result, toss result, and completion status. If the match is abandoned or ends in no result, Kalshi run markets face data ambiguity while Polymarket completion market explicitly resolves No. Postponement keeps all markets open; permanent cancellation triggers 50-50 on Polymarket but leaves Kalshi unresolved. Cross-platform arbitrage is unlikely due to market type mismatch.

Critical divergence points:

  • Kalshi: Six run-total threshold markets (Seattle Orcas and MI New York, each at 129.5, 159.5, 189.5 runs). Resolution is Yes if the specified team exceeds the threshold. Requires final official run totals from the match. No explicit handling of abandonment, no result, or tie scenarios.
  • Polymarket: Three binary markets: (1) Match winner—resolves to winner per ESPNCricinfo, with DLS/DRS/Super Over recognized; ties resolve 50-50 if no tiebreak available. (2) Toss winner—resolves to official toss result per ESPNCricinfo; 50-50 if no toss conducted. (3) Match completion—resolves Yes if official result declared (including draws), No if abandoned/no result/canceled. Postponement keeps markets open; permanent cancellation triggers 50-50 or No as applicable.
Our PredictionHero Resolution Divergence Alerts (RDA) are there to help users identify potential differences across platforms. They do not replace or supersede the official rules and description of any prediction market. Users are solely responsible for reviewing and understanding the applicable rules and resolution criteria before placing any trade or bet. If you notice a potential inconsistency, discrepancy, or error in an alert, please report it to our team so we can review and improve the accuracy of our data.

Polymarket

This market refers to the cricket match between Mi New York and Seattle Orcas scheduled for July 10 2026 in Major League Cricket. This market resolves according to the finalized match result as published by https://www.espncricinfo.com/. DLS/DRS, over-rate penalties, forfeit/walkover, or any other on-field ruling that leads the competition to declare a winner are treated as ordinary wins. If the match ends tied and the playing conditions provide an on-field tiebreak (e.g., Super Over), the winner determined by that tiebreak will be used for resolution. If the match ends tied and no on-field tiebreak is used or available under the playing conditions (e.g., group-stage ODI with no Super Over), the market will resolve 50-50. If the match is postponed/rescheduled, the market remains open until the listed fixture is completed. If the match is permanently canceled or abandoned or otherwise is completed without a winner, the market resolves 50-50. The primary resolution source for this market is the official statistics of the event as recognized by the governing body or event organizers. However, if the governing body or event organizers have not published final match statistics within 2 hours after the event's conclusion, a consensus of credible reporting may be used instead.

Kalshi

Markets resolve based on the total runs officially recorded by each team in the Seattle Orcas vs MI New York match scheduled for July 10, 2026 at 4:30 PM EDT. Resolution uses actual recorded statistics only, with no projections or adjustments applied. If the match is cancelled before play begins or delayed more than 48 hours from the scheduled start time, all markets resolve to fair market price as determined by the Exchange. If play begins but no official result is declared (including via DLS), markets resolve to fair market price, except for statistics already definitively achieved, which resolve on recorded results. If the match is shortened but an official result is declared through ICC-approved methods such as DLS, statistical markets resolve based on actual recorded statistics only.

Frequently asked questions

Prediction markets and traditional sportsbooks price outcomes differently. Sportsbooks set odds to balance their book and lock in profit margins, while prediction markets rely on trader consensus and continuous price discovery. This market aggregates live odds from multiple prediction platforms, which often reflect sharper, more dynamic pricing than static sportsbook lines. Comparing the two can reveal where public perception diverges from professional assessment, though prediction market prices are not guaranteed to match or beat sportsbook odds on any given day.

Polymarket and Kalshi may price this market differently due to variations in user base, liquidity depth, and contract design. Polymarket and Kalshi can show different implied probabilities for the same outcome because of liquidity, fee structure, participant mix, and how each venue defines the contract. Each platform's fee structure, order-flow patterns, and risk tolerance among traders can shift prices by several percentage points. Additionally, different contract specifications—such as run thresholds or settlement timing—may attract different trader profiles, causing temporary or sustained divergence. Monitoring both venues helps identify mispricings and understand where consensus is strongest.

Key catalysts include team roster announcements, injury updates, recent form and head-to-head records, and weather forecasts closer to match day. Live match action—early wickets, batting momentum, and field positioning—will drive sharp intraday repricing. Public betting trends and social media sentiment can also shift odds, especially if one side gains backing from high-profile bettors or media coverage. Monitoring team news and live commentary will help traders anticipate and react to price swings before resolution.
