Frequently asked questions

Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance betting action and incorporate a profit margin, while this market relies on traders directly expressing their beliefs about the likelihood of each exact score. If sportsbooks believe there is limited information available, their odds may be more conservative. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information sources, analytical approaches, and the incentives of participants in each venue. It's common to see prediction markets more accurately reflect true probabilities as the event approaches.

On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that exact score occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the prices adjust to reflect the collective assessment. The market's price movements are driven by new information, changing sentiment, and the overall flow of funds into and out of each outcome. This dynamic pricing ensures the market remains responsive to the latest developments.

This market resolves around Sep 19, 2026, with the outcome confirmed once the event is verifiable from credible public reporting. The final, official result of the Maccabi Petah Tikva vs. Hapoel Jerusalem match, as reported by a recognized sports data provider, will determine the winning outcome. The resolution will be based on the exact final score of the match, including any extra time or penalty shootouts if applicable. Traders who correctly predicted the exact score will be paid out according to the final share prices at the time of resolution.

Several factors could influence trading activity and shift the odds in this market. Any news regarding player injuries or suspensions for either Maccabi Petah Tikva or Hapoel Jerusalem would likely have a significant impact.
