Prediction market odds often reflect the wisdom of the crowd, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks establish initial lines based on their own analysis, aiming to balance action on both sides, while this market's odds are determined by individuals willing to put their capital at risk. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook’s odds are inaccurate, they can influence the price on Polymarket to reflect their collective assessment. This dynamic can sometimes lead to prediction market odds being more accurate than traditional sportsbook lines.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome.
