While sportsbooks set initial lines based on statistical models and expert opinions, this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs, potentially leading to odds that diverge from those offered by sportsbooks. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information access, biases, or simply the collective insight of prediction market participants. It’s common to see prediction markets react more quickly to breaking news or changing circumstances than traditional betting venues.
