Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often differing from initial sportsbook lines. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, allows traders to freely adjust probabilities based on their own research and information. As more information becomes available and more people trade, the odds on Polymarket may converge with or diverge from sportsbook odds, depending on whether the market identifies information the sportsbook missed or discounts information the sportsbook overvalues.
