Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks may incorporate factors like marketing or house biases, while this market relies on the aggregated predictions of informed traders. If sportsbook odds significantly diverge from those seen here, it could indicate differing levels of information or varying interpretations of the available data. It's important to consider both sources when forming your own assessment of the likely outcome of the match.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and new information becomes available, the price adjusts to reflect the collective assessment.
