Often, prediction market odds reflect a 'wisdom of the crowd' that can differ from traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and attempt to balance action on both sides, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. If a significant number of informed bettors believe a sportsbook’s odds are inaccurate, they can express that view by trading in this market, potentially driving the price away from the sportsbook’s initial assessment. It’s common to see discrepancies, especially before major events or when new information emerges.
