Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, incorporating a profit margin. This market, however, is driven by individuals freely trading based on their own information and beliefs. Therefore, discrepancies can arise, particularly if the crowd possesses unique insights or disagrees with the sportsbook's assessment. It’s common to see prediction markets move faster to incorporate new information than sportsbooks, as there's no built-in profit motive influencing the price.
