Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of bettors, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbook odds are typically set by professional oddsmakers, while this market’s odds are determined by individuals trading based on their own research and insights. It’s common to see discrepancies between the two, especially before a significant amount of trading occurs. Analyzing these differences can be valuable for informed decision-making, though it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities of an outcome.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing different outcomes of the Siddiqui vs Naharro match, and the price of each share reflects the market’s current belief about the probability of that outcome. As more shares are traded, the price adjusts to reflect new information and sentiment. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price movements are driven by supply and demand, with higher demand pushing prices up and increased supply causing them to fall. This creates a dynamic pricing system where the odds constantly evolve.
