Often, prediction market odds reflect a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, ensuring a profit margin, while Polymarket allows traders to directly assess the probability of an outcome. This can lead to differences in implied probabilities, especially when there's strong public sentiment or information asymmetry. It's common to see this market’s odds diverge from sportsbook lines as new information emerges or as the crowd’s collective wisdom takes shape. Comparing the two can reveal interesting insights into market perceptions.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism. Traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. As more shares are traded, the price adjusts to reflect the collective sentiment of the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of the outcome it represents – a higher price indicates a greater perceived chance of success. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the most up-to-date information and beliefs of those trading it.

Unexpected announcements about the match schedule or venue could also create volatility. Furthermore, significant betting activity from informed traders or large volume purchases could indicate a shift in sentiment. Public opinion and analysis from tennis experts, while not directly reflected in the market, could also indirectly influence trader behavior and lead to price movements.
