Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially differing from those set by sportsbooks. Sportsbooks typically set odds to maximize profit, incorporating a margin for themselves, while this market allows traders to directly express their beliefs about the probability of each outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists between prediction market probabilities and sportsbook odds, it could indicate that the market perceives information differently or anticipates factors not fully accounted for by traditional oddsmakers. However, it’s important to remember that both represent probabilities and are subject to change as new information emerges.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of a particular outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the implied probability of that outcome. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and express their views, the price adjusts, providing a dynamic assessment of the event's potential results. The market's price is determined solely by supply and demand among traders on Polymarket, and reflects the aggregated expectations of those participants regarding the Dominko vs Massard match.
