Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, which represents their profit margin. This market, driven by the collective intelligence of traders on Polymarket, aims to reflect the true probability of an outcome, though biases can still exist. Discrepancies can arise due to differing levels of information, analytical approaches, and risk appetites between prediction market participants and sportsbook operators. Comparing the two can reveal insights into public perception versus professional analysis.
