Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, which represents their profit margin. This market, driven by the wisdom of the crowd on Polymarket, aims to reflect the true probability of each outcome as assessed by traders. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on expert analysis, this market continuously adjusts based on real-money wagers, potentially revealing discrepancies or insights not immediately apparent in sportsbook pricing.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. As more traders participate and place bets, the prices adjust to reflect the collective intelligence of the market. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market odds are constantly updated and responsive to new information or changes in sentiment regarding the Pardubice boxing match.
