Generally, prediction market odds tend to reflect the wisdom of the crowd, often proving more accurate than traditional sportsbook odds, especially as an event approaches. Sportsbooks may incorporate biases or seek to profit from public perception, while this market aggregates diverse opinions. However, discrepancies can occur due to differing liquidity and the specific bettors active on each platform. It's common to see initial sportsbook lines move closer to the prediction market price as more information becomes available and betting activity increases.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market price fluctuates based on supply and demand; if more people believe Melvin Kumar will win, the price of shares representing that outcome will increase, and vice versa. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the collective intelligence of those trading on Polymarket.

Any news regarding the physical condition of either boxer, such as injuries or illness, would likely cause significant movement. Unexpected developments in their training regimens or any controversies surrounding the fight could also play a role.
