Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, representing their profit margin. This market, driven by the wisdom of the crowd, aims to represent the true probability of outcomes as perceived by traders. While sportsbooks may initially set odds based on expert analysis, prediction markets can quickly adjust to new information and changing sentiment. It’s common to see discrepancies between the two, especially as more volume is traded and the event draws closer.
