Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of traders, potentially offering a different perspective than traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks set odds based on their own models and aim to profit by balancing action on all sides. This market, however, is driven by individuals willing to put their capital behind their beliefs, which can lead to odds that diverge from those found at sportsbooks, particularly as new information emerges. It’s common to see prediction markets incorporate information faster than traditional sources, potentially leading to more accurate probabilities.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome of the Kadiri vs Rivet match. The price of these shares directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The more traders who believe an outcome is likely, the higher the share price will climb, and vice versa. This creates a dynamic pricing system that adjusts in real-time based on supply and demand, providing a transparent view of market sentiment.
