Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, representing their profit margin. This market, driven by the collective intelligence of traders, aims to reflect the true probability of an event occurring, potentially offering more favorable odds. However, discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or market dynamics. It’s always wise to compare odds from various sources before making a decision.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, the price increases, reflecting growing confidence. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price is determined by the supply and demand for shares, providing a real-time assessment of the market's expectations for the Tsaghkadzor tennis match.
