Typically, prediction market odds offer a different perspective than those found at traditional sportsbooks. Sportsbooks often incorporate a 'vig' or commission into their odds, while Polymarket allows traders to directly assess the probability of an event. This can lead to differences in implied probabilities. It's common to see prediction markets reflect the 'wisdom of the crowd,' potentially identifying value where sportsbooks might be less accurate. However, it's important to remember that both represent probabilities based on different methodologies and information sources.
