Generally, prediction market odds often reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market relies on the collective predictions of informed traders. Discrepancies can arise due to differing information, biases, or simply the dynamics of each market. It’s common to see prediction markets incorporate information faster than sportsbooks, especially regarding late-breaking news or changes in fighter condition. This can lead to opportunities for arbitrage or informed betting.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly reflects the probability of that outcome occurring, as perceived by the market participants. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market is entirely driven by supply and demand; as more traders believe in a particular outcome, the price of its corresponding shares increases, and vice versa. This creates a dynamic pricing system that constantly adjusts to new information and changing sentiment.

Several signals could significantly impact this market. Any news regarding injuries to either fighter, changes in their training regimens, or updates on their physical condition would likely cause price movement. Pre-fight press conferences, weigh-in results, and analysis from boxing experts could also influence trader sentiment. Unexpected betting patterns in traditional sportsbooks might also be a signal. Finally, any major shifts in public opinion or social media buzz surrounding the fight could contribute to changes in the probabilities reflected in this market.
