Prediction market odds often reflect the collective wisdom of a diverse group of forecasters, and can sometimes differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks establish lines based on their own models and aim to balance action on both sides, while this market is driven purely by traders expressing their beliefs about the outcome. On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the likelihood of each outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the implied probability of that outcome occurring. As more traders buy shares in a particular outcome, its price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is determined entirely by supply and demand, with no external factors influencing the valuation. This dynamic pricing allows the market to quickly incorporate new information and adjust probabilities accordingly.
