Often, prediction market odds reflect a wisdom-of-the-crowd effect, potentially differing from initial sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks set lines based on their own models and to balance action, while this market aggregates the beliefs of many individual traders. This can lead to discrepancies, especially as new information emerges or public sentiment shifts. It's common to see prediction markets move faster than sportsbooks in response to breaking news or unexpected developments, as traders quickly incorporate this information into their assessments of the likely outcome.
