Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market aggregates the predictions of many individuals. If a significant discrepancy exists between the two, it may indicate that the market believes the sportsbook has mispriced the event. It’s common to see the prediction market odds shift as new information becomes available, potentially offering an advantage over static sportsbook lines.
