Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market incorporates the collective beliefs of many individuals trading on Polymarket. If a significant number of traders believe a sportsbook has mispriced a player's chances, the prediction market odds will adjust accordingly. This can sometimes lead to more accurate probabilities, as the market aggregates diverse perspectives and reacts quickly to new information. However, sportsbook odds are still a useful point of comparison.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of these shares directly reflects the probability of a particular player winning the Nonthaburi tennis match. As more traders buy shares in a player, the price increases, indicating a higher perceived chance of victory. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The market’s price is determined solely by supply and demand within Polymarket, and there is no central authority setting the odds. This dynamic pricing ensures that the market reflects the most up-to-date collective intelligence.
