Sportsbooks often set initial lines to balance their risk, while this market allows anyone to express their belief about the likely outcome. If a significant discrepancy exists between prediction market probabilities and sportsbook odds, it may indicate that the market perceives information differently than the sportsbook, or that one venue has more informed traders.
