Typically, prediction market odds reflect the wisdom of the crowd and can differ from traditional sportsbook odds. Sportsbooks often set initial lines based on statistical models and expert analysis, while this market allows anyone to trade on their beliefs, potentially leading to a more accurate assessment of probabilities. If sportsbooks heavily favor one player, but volume in this market suggests a more competitive match, it could indicate a disagreement in perceived likelihood. It's important to compare both to form a well-rounded view of the potential outcome.
On Polymarket, this market is priced through a continuous auction mechanism, where traders buy and sell shares representing their belief in the outcome. The price of a share directly corresponds to the probability of that outcome occurring. As more people buy shares in a particular outcome, the price increases, and vice versa. On Polymarket, prices reflect that venue's order book, liquidity, and how traders price the outcome right now. The current price reflects the collective intelligence of the traders on Polymarket, and the market is open for trading until resolution. This dynamic pricing allows for real-time adjustments based on new information and changing sentiment.

Unexpected results in earlier rounds of the tournament, or even commentary from tennis analysts, might also impact the price of shares.
